I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I will admit to the occassional obsessive desire for a DQ Snickers Blizzard. And I often drop in for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. But I don't smoke, drink, or do any drugs and I've been clean and sober for over a quarter century.
As you can tell by the decor of this page, at heart I'm stuck in the late sixties, early seventies era. I have matured slightly and cut off my long pony tail. But I haven't given up the "cause". I'm still an advocate for peace and nonviolent social change. My personal idols are John Lennon, Ghandi, and Martin Luther King When I went to college I was supported by the Vietnam era GI Bill. I'm not sure I would have made it through college otherwise. In college I studied a lot of Psychology, Sociology, Politcal Science, and Philosophy. Professionally, I am now a counselor specializing in working with people who are violent. I view myself as a teacher of peace, love, and nonviolence. For nearly two decades I've maintained a private counseling practice named Nonviolent Alternatives.
I have very little local family, but I am married to a very kind and nice woman named Kim. Here is a picture of the two of us.
Mostly I'm a homebody, however, we often enjoy going out for dinner. My favorite food is sushi. I know, I know...raw fish!!! The only thing I can say is that if you don't like sushi then you've never tried it.
Kim and I like to go to movies. We usually go to Landmark Keystone Art Cinema. We also like to go to live theater and see an occassional play. If we go watch live sports it's usually one of our local minor league teams, the Indianapolis Indians baseball team or the Indiana Ice hockey team. I grew up in Fort Wayne and my family always had season tickets to see the Komets, so as a kid I was a huge hockey fan.
In 2008 Kim and I had to go to Las Vegas to attend her daughter's wedding so we took the opportunity to see The Beatles LOVE Cirque Du Soleil show. It was absolutely amazing.
We rarely ever go to Colts or Pacer games live as the ticket prices are getting so silly. Plus available seats are in the nose bleed sections, so the view is better on TV. Kim and I did have the opportunity to go to the Colts two home playoff games on their way to the 2006 Superbowl. The AFC championship game against the Patriots was probably the most exciting thing I've ever experienced in my life. Wow was that a blast. It had to be one of the best pro football games ever played.
